Samuel Stein writes about the politics of housing and planning in New York City. His work has been published in The Guardian, Jacobin , Jewish Currents, n+1, The New York Review of Architecture , The New York Review of Books, The Village Voice, and many other magazines and journals, and has been reviewed in The New Yorker, Los Angeles Review of Books, Architectural Review , and more. He is the author of the books Capital City: Gentrification and the Real Estate State (2019) and A Right to Housing? (2026).
