Samuel Stein writes about the politics of housing and planning in New York City. His work has been published in The Guardian, Jacobin, Jewish Currents, n+1, The New York Review of Architecture, The New York Review of Books, The Village Voice, and many other magazines and journals, and has been reviewed in The New Yorker, Los Angeles Review of Books, Architectural Review, and more. He is the author of the books Capital City: Gentrification and the Real Estate State (2019) and A Right to Housing? (2026).
